Christians of Siruguppa hold Christmas Peace March
SIRUGUPPA, 9 DEC 2023:

Over thousand Christians and their fiends held a Christmas Peace March and ecumenical Christmas celebration on Dec 9 at Siruguppa in Bellary Diocese.

The peace march started with a praise and worship session at the Government School grounds at 10 am. The congregation prayed for the wellbeing of the country, political leaders, officials and administrators, farmers and workers.

Various Christian denominations and their friends and well wishers of the “Rice Bowl Town” of Siruguppa with rice vast fields and dozens of rice mills joined the peace march.

Fr Ivan Pinto, PRO, Bellary Diocese, gave the introductory words. He highlighted as to how the Id, Deepavali and Christmas through their messages of love and human fraternity, spread the message of unity and social harmony. “Christmas is a global celebration, which involves people of all ages, all over the world”, he added.

The peace marchers along with the choirs of various congregations sang the Christmas carols during the procession.

The highlight of the procession was the attractive tableau of the Christmas Crib presented by the students of JMJ School, Siruguppa.

Sr Lourdumary, Headmistress, JMJ School, Rev. Navin Murthy CSI pastor, pastors Nagappa, Jaya Prabhu, Sunil Kumar, Chandru, Ramesh, Veeresh, Jayanna, Ravi Kumar, Sunil Rao and others led their congregation members.

The procession ended with a fellowship meal for all.
