History: Harapur mission was created in April 1994. This was carved out of Maski Parish with Fr. Santan Quadras as its first Parish Priest. Since there was no infrastructure, the first parish priest had to stay in a neighbouring village chapel until he built up a presbytery in Harapur in July 1995. One of the rooms in the presbytery was being used as a chapel. On 13th June 1995 the boarding home with two rooms was blessed, with 43 children on the roll. A grotto of our Lord of Ascension was built at the roadside and blessed on 24th May 1998. The boarding house was extended and the present Church was built by Fr. Arokianathan in the year 2003.
