New Statues for Parish, Deanery and Diocesan Pastoral Councils

E-mail Print PDF

BELLARY, JUL. 03: Recognizing the Church as a community of the People of God, the Second Vatican Council urged greater participation of the Lay Faithful in the collaborative structures of the Church.

Hence, having obtained the approval of the Council of Priests and the deanery meetings, the Bishop has  promulgated the statues for the Parish Finance Committee, Parish, Deanery and Diocesan Pastoral Councils on July 3, 2009, the Feast of St. Thomas, the apostle.

All the parish priests have been requested to announce the Decree to the Lay Faithful on the Sunday after receiving the booklet of statues.  Also, all the pastors have been requested to sensitize the Lay Faithful to the spirit and requirements of the new statutes.

All the councils and committees will be constituted by Sep. 08, 2009.
