E-mail Print PDF

BELLARY, 10 JUNE 2010: Over a century old St. John’s Educational Institutions, Fort, Bellary will have a new college block soon. Bellary District In-charge and Karnataka Tourism Minister Shri G.R. Reddy will lay the foundation stone and Bishop of Bellary Most Rev Henry D’Souza will bless  it  at 10.30 AM on Saturday, June 12..

Some of the popular leaders who have been the past students of the institution namely Karnataka Revenue Minister G. Karunakara Reddy, Member of Parliament Anil Lad, Andhra MLA Vivekananda Reddy, Members of Karnataka Legislature B. Nagendra, Suresh Babu, and leaders like Suryanarayan Reddy, Santhosh Lad and others have been invited to grace the occasion.

St John’s educational institutions have been promoting quality education for over a century. Some of the great leaders like late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Rajshekhar Reddy have passed through the portals of this renowned institution. Today, we can proudly declare that the institution has shaped the destiny of thousands of students.

The new building is intended replace some of its old and dilapidated classrooms and learning facilities. The new block will serve the crucial needs for better and modern facilities for over 2,000 students in this backward Hyderabad-Karnataka region. Some of the generous former students, together with the Past Students’ Association of the College and the Management, intend to complete the building in two years.

The new college block is estimated to cost about Rs. 4.5 crores and we count on the generous and kind donations from former students, friends, admirers and philanthropists. You are aware that “God loves a cheerful giver!”

We are grateful to Bellary district Minister for his interest in the project and for supporting the cause of promotion of quality education.

+ Henry D’Souza

Bishop of Bellary
