altBELLARY, MAY 29: Eight couples entered into wedlock in the presence of a large gathering at the mass marriage ceremony organized by Hirenaganur parish on May 24 at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

An air of gaiety, joy and celebration seen all over the small town of Hirenaganoor in Raichur district.

The celebrations were led by Bishop of Bellary Henry D’Souza and ably organized by the local parish priest Fr. Gnanaprakash.

In his homily Bishop D’Souza urged the new couples to appreciate the sacrament of marriage which binds them to each other and to God himself.

Bishop insisted on the need of strengthening the Catholic families through mutual love and respect.

Bishop complimented Fr. Gnanaprakash for his initiative and the hard work put in in organizing such a major event.

“Remain faithful to one another as God has been faithful to his people. Celebrate the fullness of life given by the Risen Lord through love, forgiveness and abiding faith in God”, urged Bishop D’Souza.

Local MLA Mr. Vajjal felicitated the new couples and the entire community joined in wishing the newlyweds happy married life.

After the customary exchange of thalis the couples sought the blessings from the elders. They were later treated to a wedding sumptuous lunch.
