BELLARY, FEB 19: The St. Joseph’s Youth Club of T. B. Dam parish celebrated the silver jubilee of its foundation, Feb. 18-19, with gaiety and solemnity.

“Founded in 1987 by the then parish priest Fr. Rajappan, the youth club has grown from strength to strength, serving the parish as well as the TB Dam town”, stated the immediate past president Arun.

Presiding over both the thanksgiving Holy Eucharist and the public function, Bishop of Bellary Henry D’Souza urged the youth “to bring fellow youth who are seeking meaning of life and happiness to Jesus, the way, the truth and the life”.

“Youth must not hesitate to declare their Catholic identity and to love the Church”, added Bishop D’Souza.

“In personal life, youth must be able to achieve excellence and work towards a new society based on the life and teachings of Jesus”, Bishop insisted.

Parish priest of TB Dam parish welcomed the gathering and complimented the youth for their “dedicated service to the church and the society”.

The youth presented a colourful entertainment programme and also presented prizes for those who won various tournaments.
