altJAWALGERA, 19 APRIL 2013 (Evelyn): The 7th skills training course for school dropouts and rural youth was inaugurated by Bishop Henry D’Souza on 19 April at diocesan training centre at Jawalgera, Raichur district.

In his opening speech, Bishop D’Souza urged the organizers to reach out to all the rural youth who are from the socially backward and economically poor sections of the society.

“Only a properly skilled, properly motivated and employable youth can usher in a change in the families infested with poverty and social evils such as child marriage, alcoholism and unemployment”, opined Bishop D’Souza.

“The training programme should be able to put dreams of a better life and inculcate ethical values in young minds” added Bishop of Bellary.

Bishop thanked the director Fr. Charles Sunder Raj for his initiative and perseverance.

Over 90 rural youth are participating in the 3-month long training programme, which is the seventh one in the series.
