Faithful Rejoice Over Blessing Of New Chapel At Malladevaragudda, Devdurga

DEODURGA, RAICHUR JAN 31 (Saji George, sdb): Large gathering of Christians and people of neighbourhood rejoiced over the blessing of the newly built chapel on Jan 31, on the feast day of St. John Bosco at MalladevaraGudda, Devadurga in Raichur district.

Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary blessed the newly built chapel and Fr. Thomas Koonan, sdb, the Vice Provincial of the Salesians, Bangalore Province inaugurated the well built worship place at MalladevaraGudda which is 25Kms from Devadurga. Many priests, religious and lay faithful witnessed the same.

The chapel is dedicated to Sacred Heart of Jesus. Bishop Henry appreciated and thanked Fr. Saji George, sdb, parish priest and Fr. KC Mathew SDB, the Rector of the Salesian community of Devdurga, for their efforts and urged to keep the faith vibrant and alive. Also, Bishop lauded the pastoral and educational work done by the Salesians to the people of Devadurga.

Fr. Saji George  thanked the generous donors especially the  Propaganda Fide for their generous contribution towards the construction of the chapel at MalladevaraGudda and nourishing the faith of the people of Devadurga.

The solemn event began with a band led by the Catholic villagers from the village of Manasagal and ended with a fellowship meal for about 1000 people.
