Differently Abled Children Win Laurels

altBELLARY, 04 MARCH 2014 (Sr. Mari Christine ac): Children from the Anugraha School for Defferently Abled Children, Bellary won prizes at the district level events held recently.

They excelled in cricket  match held on the occasion of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day organised by O.P.  Jindal, Torangal, winning the trophy in spite of their disabilities.

Chandini won the third prize at the district level competition organized at Bellary. Anugraha Trust has been rendering service to the differently abled children for the past three years. It is a home away home for 38 mentally challenged children from the district.

The prizes were distributed on the occasion of the school annual held on Mar. 4 at the school premises on the Talloor road.

“Inability is never a hindrance to success; self confidence and support from others will ensure success”, said Rajashekara Reddy, KSS  and Coordinator of Sri Satya Sai Organisation at the occasion of their school’s annual day. 

Bishop Henry D’ Souza, Bishop of Bellary and President of the Anugraha Foundation in his message said “Differently abled children are special and precious. They should be provided with a loving environment for their development. These children should be brought to the experience of God’s loving care through the warm acceptance by parents and the larger society.”

He lauded the service offered by the Apostolic Carmel Sisters who run the school. In a special way he thanked the Y. Basavaraj and Neelamma Basavaraj and their family for generously donating land the the school building for the disadvantaged children.

B T Nandisha, DSI, Bellary appreciated the noble humanitarian service rendered in the school. He explicitly expressed his support in all possible way for the school.

State Bank of India, Bellary main branch has donated a School Van which helps the disadvantaged and poor children to attend school regularly.
