Karnataka Bishops Meet Governor to Appraise Plight of Christians in Iraq

altBANGALORE, SEP 19: Seven Bishops of Karnataka led by Archbishop Bernard Moras, met Sri. Vajubhai Vala, the Governor of Karnataka today at the Raj Bhavan.

The Bishops submitted a memorandum addressed to the Hon'ble President of India, drawing the attention of the Central Government and demanding a strong stand to condemn the atrocities against Christians in Iraq.

The other members in the delegation were the Bishop of Belgaum Peter Machado, Bishop of Bhadravathi Mar Joseph Arumachadath, Bishop of Chickamangalur Thomasappa Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Karwar Derek Fernandes, Bishop of Mangalore Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop of Mysore Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Msgr. J. Jayanathan and Msgr. C. Francis both Vicars General, Fr. Ronnie Prabhu P.R.O., Abraham T.J., Anti Corruption Activist and Ms Aida D'Cuna, Social Activist.
