Electrical Lab Opened At CCFT Center For Rural Unemployed Youth

altJAWELEGERA, SEP 29: An Electrical Lab was blessed and opened by Bishop Henry D’Souza on 29th September for training rural unemployed youth at CCFT Center, Church Farm, Raichur district.   

The well equipped training lab has been donated by Snider India Foundation through FVTRS, Bangalore. It is intended to help in skilling the unemployed youth of backward youth, particularly of Raichur district.

In his opening message Bishop stressed on imparting employable skills to the school drop outs and unemployed rural youth. He also emphasized on communicating values such as hard work, integrity and teamwork.  

Bishop thanked FVTRS and Snider India Foundation for their collaboration and congratulated Fr. Charles Sunder Raj, Director of CCFT Center for his initiative to launch the electrical lab for the benefit of the poor youth.

Mr. P. M. Philip, Executive Director of FVTRS, Mr. Felix D'Souza, Project Officer, Mr. Prashanth Shetty, representative of Schneider Foundation, Fr. Chourappa, Director Bellary Diocese Development Society, and Fr. Yagappa, Bellary Diocesan Estate Manager, Diocese of Bellary were the dignitaries present at the occasion.  

The participants of the training program shared their experience at the centre.

The pogramme was well attended by trainees, trainers, priests, nuns and well wishers of the Center.

Skills such as Basic Computer Course, Garment Making, Bed Side Nursing, Electrical Motor Rewinding, Basic Agriculture and Fishery are conducted for rural young men and women at the   Cardinal Cushing Farmers Training (CCFT) Centre.  

There are over 150 students in two batches get trained at the centre annually.

The CCFT Centre was a dream child of the late bishop Ambrose P Yeddappalli. It was started in 1972.

CCFT Center, Jawelgera is 13 Kms away from Sindhanur, the nearest town and 80 Kms. away from Raichur, the district head quarters.
