Ballari Religious To Move From Institutional To Mission Mode

altBELLARY, SEPT 18: 36 Religious superiors and heads of institutions decided to move from institutional mode to mission mode here on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Bishop’s House.

Gathered for an annual meeting to reflect on the pastoral challenges of today and Pope’s Pastoral Exhortation Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love), strongly felt the need of effectively responding to the present day pastoral by emphasizing on mission.

Bishop Henry D Souza presented the highlights and main thrusts of the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis.

He also sensitized the heads religious communities that the church should avoid judging people and imposing rules without being sensitive to their problems and struggles.

Bishop D’Souza urged the leaders to celebrate of the Holy Eucharist according to liturgical norms and to avoid all sorts of liturgical aberrations.

The religious joyfully agreed to participate in the mission of the Church through greater collaboration with the Bishop and integration into the pastoral life of the pastoral community.

Bishop also presented the highlights of the Career Advancement Programme (CAP India) launched by CBCI Youth Council for Catholic students to Prepare Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.

Bishop D’Souza urged the leaders to take steps to encourage catholic students from their institutions to enroll in the CAP India program at the earliest.  

The day’s program was concluded with Holy Eucharistic celebration and a fellowship meal.
