Fr. KA William Appointed Bishop of Mysore

altNEW DELHI, JAN 25: Pope Francis has appointed Fr. K.A. William,  of the clergy of Mysore as new Bishop of Mysore Diocese.

Ecclesial provision was made public in Rome on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

Pope Francis has accepted  resignation of Bishop Thomas Vazhapilli, Bishop of Mysore from Pastoral responsibility.

The bishop-elect was born in Pollibetta, in the Diocese of Mysore, on Feb. 27, 1965.

He studied at the¬†St. Mary’s Minor Seminary¬†and at¬†St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary. He was ordained a priest on May 18, 1993.

He acquired a¬†Master’s Degree¬†in Canon Law and M.A. in Christianity.

Presently he is the Parish Priest of¬†St. Joseph’s Church¬†and Secretary, Mysore Diocesan Educational Society. May God abundantly bless his Episcopal ministry!

We appreciate and thank Bishop Thomas Vazhapilly for his dedicated Episcopal ministry for fourteen years.

We wish him robust health and happiness in the years ahead.
