Motivation And Prayer for Evangelization Held

BELLARY, JULY 12: The Bellary Diocesan Commission for Evangelization organized a day-long sensitization programme on Evangelization at St. Antony’s Community Centre, Bellary on July 12.

It was well attended by about 200 participants, who included priests, religious and lay leaders from different parts of the diocese.

The seminar began at 10.00 a. m. with invocation prayer service led by Bro. Innaci Muthu and Bro. Joseph.

Archbishop  Vincent Concessao, Emeritus Archbishop  of Delhi, Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary, Isaac Montero, Alwyn D’Souza, Vijay Bhatti of UCPI were the resource persons.

Archbishop Vincent Concessao while addressing the gathering stated, “As Catholics we are all meant to evangelize. We need not be the best theologians to spread the Good News. But our deep Faith in Jesus sustains us”.

“Also we need to team up our efforts to set the blaze of Evangelization”, he added.

Bishop Henry D’Souza in his keynote address said “Mission mandate is for all and for all times”. Quoting Pope Francis he said, “Missionary impulse is capable of transforming everything and the entire Church should be in a permanent mode of mission”.

Urging the priests, religious and lay leaders to be in permanent state of mission mode and appealed to them to be missionary disciples.

Bishop Henry applauded the initiative of the UCPI members and the Diocesan Commission for Evangelization for taking initiative to organize the seminar and appealed to continue.

Fr. Antonyraj P. is the Chairman and Fr. Lourdu Basilraj is the Secretary of the Diocesan Evangelisation Commission.

The participants evolved plans to reach out to active Catholic, inactive Catholics and people of other faiths with the Good News in our life-time.

The seminar concluded with the Holy Eucharist.
