Bellary Diocese Religious Dedicate to Pastoral Ministry

BELLARY, 24 SEPT, 2017.Head of Institutions and Religious Houses of the Diocese of Bellary gathered for their annual meeting at Bishop’s House, Bellary on 24th September 2017 reflected on the integration into the pastoral life of the Diocese.

 

There were 53 participants from the various Religious houses/ institutions of the diocese.

 

Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary presented the highlights and the main thrusts of Pope Francis Pastoral Exhortation “ Amoris Laetitia”

 

He also invited the religious to rededicate themselves to move from Institution maintenance to Pastoral Mission also to rediscover their Founders “charism” in the light of  Pope Francis’s “Joy of the Gospel”

 

The Religious leaders present enthusiastically agreed to empower themselves for Pastoral Commitment and the people in their care. They positively responded the invitation of the Bishop to collaborate with diocesan education policy and to promote culture of life, social and environmental harmony and to protect human and minority rights.

 

At the occasion the Bishop appealed to the heads of Charitable institutions particularly  the children homes to be registered under District Women and Children Welfare Department. And to follow the new government norms regarding financial transactions.

 

Sr. Lissy Francis ASMI, Vidya Nagar,Raichur has been felicitated on her Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession at the occasion.

 

Diocesan CRI unit president Sr. Shalini RGS thanked all those present.

The day’s session concluded with Eucharistic celebration and fraternal meal.
