Bellary ICYM Office Bearers Meet at Mudgal

Bellary diocesan ICYM office bearers’ meet held on Feb 16,2014 at Sacred Heart School Mudgal, Raichur Dist. was organized by Rev. Fr. Alphonse George (ICYM Director of Bellary Diocese) and local ICYM youth leaders of Mudhgal Parish. Mr. Richard (DYP), Miss. Brigit Claby (DYS), Mr. Martin (RYP/DYBR) and Miss. Dayana (DYGR) and local youth leaders had participated in the same.

The Meeting began at 2.30pm Fr. Alphonse George welcomed the gathered youth and Fr. Ponnu Swamy (Parish Priest of Mariyamanahalli the resource person for the day), shared his wonderful thoughts on the theme of Leadership and The Call for being a leader. In his talk he stressed on the major responsibilities of a youth in the Catholic Church.

The agenda of the meeting were How to have frequent touch with the youth of different parishes. To conduct bible quiz in all the parishes during the Lenten season. Registration of youth. Recollection for the youth of Hospet denary. Recollection for the youth of Lingasur denary.

Mr. Richard (DYP) expressed his ideas telling office bearers must visit each and every parish and take the contact numbers and have regular touch with them by reporting what is happening in the diocese. Fr. Alphonse proposed that we can also inform them the opportunities they get from the Diocese / Government like education, Scholarships and competitions etc so that they can make use of them.

Bible competition can be organized by Bellary ICYM in all the parishes of Bellary diocese; it can be a spiritual activity to everyone in the Lenten season. We can select some 300 questions from the Bible take printouts and circulate the same.

Mr. Richard (DYP) took the initiative to prepare the question papers for competition.

Registrations of the youth have to be done at the parish level, Once the regional office sends the format.
