ICYM Election
21st September, 2014:

“A Leader Is One Who Knows the Way, Goes the Way, & Shows the Way” As the previous president Mr. Richard passed away, Diocese of Bellary decided to have a ICYM re - election on 21th of September, 2014 at Bishop’s House, Bellary. 52 youth leaders from all the parishes of Bellary Diocese had participated in the election. Bishop Henry D’Souza (Bishop of Bellary, also Chairman for KRCBC Youth Commission) was the guest and resource person for the program.

Agenda of the program :-
• Bellary ICYM Elections
• Organization of Diocesan Youth Convention.
• Participation in Karnataka Regional Youth Convention (Yuvajanotsava 2014).
• Registration in the National Youth Data Bank.

Fr. Lourdraj, Rector of mirror seminary, BELLARY led everyone into inaugural prayer with a Bible reading & followed by reflection. Mr. Arun (Youth commission Chairman of Bellary) welcomed the gathering. Bishop Henry D’Souza, Fr. Chinnappa (Diocesan Youth Director) & Mr. Martin (Regional Youth President) took their seat on the dais.

Next Mr.Arun (Youth Chairman of Bellary) invited Bishop Henry D’Souza to speak to the youth. Bishop Henry welcomed all the participants once again and shared his thoughts and ideas on the theme LEADERSHIP. He asked all to be achievers, and encourage the youth who are hardworking. Finally Bishop Henry ended his speech by wishing all the contestants for the election.

Then personal introduction was given by all the 52 youth leaders who were present. Followed by the election procedure.

Mr. Arun explained roles and responsibilities of each designation (President, Secretary, Treasure, Male / Female Reps). The corum decided to elect only the PRESIDENT, SECRETARY & the TREASURE as the rest had their term to be completed yet.

Above mentioned youth were elected as diocesan ICYM executive team for the year 2014 till 2016.

After the election all the leaders decided to have a denary Boy representative as the Vice Presidents in the executive team so

were nominated form their respective Deaneries.

The Election concluded fruitfully and everybody took part in the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Most.Rev Bp Henry D’Souza and con celebrants Fr.Chinnappa(DYD), Fr Sam Nalan (Finance administrator, BELLARY), & Fr Lourdraj (Rector ,Mirror Seminary, Bellary).

The meeting continued with the discussions of REGIONAL YOUTH CONVENTION , DIOCESEAN YOUTH CONVENTION & YOUTH REGISTRATION IN THE NATIONAL YOUTH DATA BANK.

Fr. Chinnappa (DYD BELLARY) headed the meet,
Points came out in the discussion:-

• Two youth Leaders have to participate in the RYC from each parish.
• One way TA for the Convention will be provided by the diocese and another one as to be looked after by the participants including registration fee.
• Diocesan Convention can be organized in the month of January.
• Mr.Arun (Youth Chairman, BELLARY) will be in charged, to collect the data of Bellary youth.
With the above discussions, the meeting came to an end by 3.30PM. Fr. Chinnappa (DYD) prayed for the youth by sharing the final blessings.
