New convent building blessed at Chikkehesarur
CHIKKAHESARUR, 31MAY 2023:

Newly built convent building for the Good Shepherd Sisters at Chikkehesarur was blessed by Bishop Henry D’Souza on 31 May 2023.

“In a multi-religious context, the presence of the religious sisters should be shining light illuminating the minds of people through education and by their exemplary life”, said Bishop in his homily. He congratulated the Good Shepherd Sisters for boldly moving to the backward rural place to serve the poor and needy, more especially women and children.

Fr. Basil Raj, local parish priest along with a number of priests, nuns, and lay faithful together with a sizable gathering of non-Christians attended the programme.

The newly built building at Chikkahesarur was declared open by Sr. Lissy Chacko rgs, Provincial Leader.

Good Shepherd Sisters opened their community in Chikkehesarur in 2021 to serve the poorest of poor.
