“Amurtha Shishyaniketan” blessed at Kottur:

KOTTUR. 14 FEB. 2025.

Bishop Henry D’ Souza, Bishop of Bellary blessed the newly built Amruth Shishyaniketan( Queen of Angels Convent) at 11.00 a.m on February 14, 2025 at Kottur of Vijayanagara district, Karnataka. It was inaugurated by Archbishop Peter Machado of Bangalore during the celebration of Bellary Diocesan Platinum Jubilee on 28th November, 2024.

The Sisters of Disciples of Jesus will take the residence in “Queen of Angels Convent”, Kottur. Srs Madhuri and Jeevan have been serving in this Mission since October 2021.

The Holy Eucharistic concelebration presided by Bishop of Bellary followed the blessing. At that occasion, Bishop Henry fondly recalled the contribution of late Fr Nikson D Souza to the Mission of Kottur. There was a silent prayer observed to pray for the souls of Fr Nikson D Souza and Bro Arun Kumar.

Bishop recalled with gratitude Archdiocese of Koln, Sisters of St Peter Claver, Roma and the Diocese of Bellary who made Queen of Angels Convent building a reality in Kottur of Vijayanagara District. While appreciating the initiative and hard work put in by Rev. Frs Nikson and Regent Bro Arun Kumar (late ) and Frs. Pawan Kumar, O Vincent, Alphonse George, Ivan Pinto, Bro Rakshak and Ms Lourd Sagayam and others who were part of the construction of Queen of Angels Convent at Kottur. At that occasion, the Bishop urged the collaboration of everyone to develop Kottur Mission.

The program concluded with a fellowship meal.
