Thousands Joyfully witnessed Bellary Arogya Mathe Mahothsava :

Ballari Arogya Mathe Mahothsava was held in Ballari from Aug. 30 to Sep. 8 at the Bellary Arogya Mathe Shrine, Bellary.
The festival was climaxed with a solemn Eucharistic Concelebration presided over by Most Rev. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary where large number of priests, religious and laypeople participated from different corners of the diocese.

On 30th , August, the first day of the Novena, Bishop Duming Dias, the new Bishop of Karwar, presided over the flag hoisting and Eucharistic concelebration. Apart from religious functions, cultural programmes and social activities were organized throughout the festival period. Free meals were served to the devotees after the religious services on all the days of the festival.

The Bellary Arogya Mathe Mahothsava held on Sep. 08 at Bellary was climaxed with a solemn Eucharistic Concelebration at 11 am and concluded with (Jathra ) the Car procession with statue of Blessed Virgin Mary through the streets of Ballari , particularly Cantonment, Indira Nagar, Satyavani Nagar, Devi Nagar areas. It is heartening to witness large number of devotees Christians and others participated.

Bishop Henry , in his message highlighted Pope Francis’s “Amoris Laetitia’, or The Joy of Love and strongly exhorted that stable families are the building blocks of a healthy society and a place where everyone learn to love, respect and interact with others.

At that occasion Bishop reached out to married couples, parents, and children, asking everyone to make our families , communities “Christ – centred and face the challenges in the path of growth” , not judging each other , which will not help anybody, only destroys relationships.

It was a great joy that Bishop Henry D’Souza’s Platinum birthday which falls on 9th September was celebrated at the occasion. Bishop was felicitated before the Holy Eucharist. Fr. O Vincent, Vicar General gratefully remembered all that Bishop has been to the Diocese of Bellary and society at large.

In order to foster greater devotion, Fr. Arogyanathan, Rector,BAM appealed for prayer and filial support to make Ballari Arogya Mathe Shrine, a minor Basilica , particularly in 2025, when the Shrine completed Silver years.
