United Christian Forum – Ballari Elects New Office Bearers BALLARI:
BALLARI, 09 JAN 2024:

United Christian Forum – Ballari held its Annual General Body Meeting at which new team of office bearers was elected on Tuesday, 9 January at Bishop’s House, Ballari.

Incumbent President Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary and Chairman of United Christian Forum was re-elected by acclamation. Rev. Christha Vastha, Area Chairman of CSI – Ballari, was elected as Vice President I. Pastor Ravi Christian, Ballari Youth Fellowship President as Vice President II.

Pastor John Mark, AG Church, Moka was re-elected as Secretary, Ms Suhubangi Christian, member, Holy trinity Church, Fort, Ballari as Joint Secretary. Pastor S. Prabhakar Rao, Pastor, AG Church was elected as Treasurer.

Rev. Fr. Ivan Pinto, PRO of the Diocese of Bellary and Secretary for the Diocesan Commission for Ecumenism, and Pastor Anil Nelson, Pastor, El Shaddai Church were elected as spokespersons.

The new office bearers assumed their offices at the end of the election. Bishop Henry D’Souza thanked all the out-going office bearers for their dedicated service to the association and requested their future collaboration in Ecumenical Unity. Their term of office is for 2 years.

In the meeting deliberated on a number of issues including achievements, challenges and the future program for UCF. They also discussed the ecumenical activities for the current year.

The upcoming Ecumenical Christian Unity Week’s schedule was discussed at the meeting. Bishop Henry D’Souza stated that Christian Unity is of great significance for Christians all over the world as we seek to live more fully our ecumenical call. Universally it is promoted by the Pontifical Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, the World Council of Churches and the other Christian communities. Locally it is led by United Christian Forum, Ballari.

He also said that divisions among Christ’s are a scandal and a counter witness. Therefore, all need to strive and pray for Christian unity and promote it positively.

He urged everyone present to attend the ecumenical prayer meetings and promote unity at all levels. The new executives pledged their commitment to the ecumenical efforts and promotion of Human Rights. The meeting came to a close with the thanksgiving by Pastor John Mark, AG Church.
