Christmas Celebrated at Central Jail Bellary:

Bishop Henry D' Souza, Bishop of Bellary presided over a Christmas celebration at the Central Jail on 20th December. It was organized by the Prison Ministry team, Diocese of Bellary.

Fr.Ponnuswamy, PP, Infant Jesus Church Bellary is the present team leader.

It is to be noted that Prison Ministry team, Bellary regularly visits the Central Prison in order to interact with the inmates to aid their spiritual and mental welfare.

At the occasion quoting Pope Francis, the Bishop said "The joy of the Gospel is for all people, no one can be excluded" Pope Francis EG23. He also extended his prayer support and conveyed his greetings also encouraged all those to lead a life with dignity and honour.

There are about 550 inmates in the Central Prison, Bellary.

The School children of Vijaya Marie School, Siruguppa, Navajeevana Rehabilitation centre for specially abled children presented a meaningful program at the occasion.

Fr. Ponnuswamy thanked the officials at the Prison for permitting to have the

XMAS celebration.
