A brief history of the parish
Kamalapur was one of the sub-stations of Sacred Heart parish, Hospet. In order to cater to the pastoral needs of the people, it was made an independent parish by Bishop Joseph D'Silva in April 2004. Then P.K.Halli and Hampi became the sub-stations of theparish. Fr.Paul Mark Moras was the first parish priest and Fr. Maria Augustine succeeded him and constructed the new church and presbytery at Kamalapur. They were blessed by Bishop Henry D'Souza on 19 March, 2014.
