A brief history of the parish :
Bishop Henry D'Souzawanted to have the Christian presence amidst the Lingayat stronghold in Kottur and requested Fr. Jai Prakash to take up this zero Catholic Mission on the virgin soil in the year 2012. Fr. Jai Prakash was the pioneer of this challenging mission. The diocese bought nearly 4 acres of land at Kotturu. The mission was ably led by Fr. Jai Praksh, during whose term the Inter-Faith Centrewas blessed on 28 September 2016, the rectory on 18 November 2015, the Pre-Primary School and the Primary School on 6 June2016.Meanwhile, K. Ayyanhalli, the most promising sub-station of the Kottur Mission has come up well.A modest multi-purpose hall has been built there.Regular Sunday Mass iscelebrated atAyyanhalli sub-station.
