A brief history of the parish
Kudligi Mission was carved out of Sandur parish with an aim to spread the Gospel in the villages around Kudligi Town, which is predominantly a non-Christian area. Visualizing the great potential for evangelization in this area, this mission was started on 10th April 1996. Fr. Thomas Michael was appointed first parish priest. The newly built Presbytery and Church was blessed on 3rd December 1999 by Bishop Joseph D'Silva. To cater to the educational needs of the people in and around Kudligi town, a primary school was started in June 2000. Fr. Sam Nalan further upgraded the primary section into higher primary section and high school with construction of an additional block with two floors and a building for the teachers' quarters.The parish church was renovated by him with the assistance of Sisters of St. Peter Claver and blessed by Bishop D'Silva on 19 March 2004. Sisters of Union of St. Catherine of Siena came to serve in the parish in 2009 when Fr.Maxim Dias was the parish priest.He added additional classrooms. Present parish priest Fr. Walter has built an additional block for kindergarten section.
