Bellary Priests and Pastors Ecumenically Praise God for Christmas


BELLARY, DEC. 17, 2018: An ecumenical Christmas gathering was organized on Dec. 16 at Deeksha Bhavan Minor Seminary, Bellary. It was jointly organized by the United Christian Forum and Catholic Association. 74 priests and pastors attended joyfully. The programme included praise and worship, singing of Christmas carols and messages on Christmas. In his message Bishop Henry D'Souza, recalled the scene of Christmas - Jesus at the centre surrounded by Mary and Joseph, shepherds and wise men, animals, stars and angels. "The crib of Bethlehem shows as to how the entire humanity and creation have to live in peace and harmony, with Christ as centre", stated Bishop. Bishop D'Souza also stated as to how Christ desired that all his followers live in unity, bearing witness to the one Church of Christ. "The Church is the body of Christ and Christ is the head of the body. Neither Christ can have multiple bodies, nor the body can have many heads", declared Bishop Henry D'Souza. The assembly decided to work together to make the ecumenical programmes - Prayer Octave for Christian Unity, Ecumenical Palm Sunday Procession ,Run for Jesus and the All Christian Convention successful promoting the cause of unity among all denominations. Fr. Maxim Dias, Fr. Lourd Raj, Pastor John Mark and Pastor Prabhakar Rao of UCF and Mr. Raju Balraju and Mr. Y. Joseph of Catholic Association, along with their collaborators organized the programmes successfully.
