A brief history of the parish :
Sirwar, an independent mission unit came into existence on 21October 1979 with Fr. Charles D'Souza as its first parish priest. For many years he was residing in a hut, a portion of which was used as a chapel. The new presbytery was blessed on 14September 1994. The present church was built during the time of Fr. Vincent N.A. and blessed on 2December 1996 by Bishop Joseph D'Silva. A new school was started in 2010when Fr.Sam Nalanwas parish priest, to cater to the educational needs of local Catholics and others in Sirwar. The school buildings were built under his leadership, supported by Manos Unidas and Kinder Mission, and blessed by Bishop Henry D'Souza on14 Sep. 2012. The Mariangrotto was built during the term of Fr. Sam Nalan. Fr. Arokianathan raised the first floor of the school building. The renovation and extention work of the church was undertaken by Fr.Arogyanathan. The renovated church was blessed by Bishop Henry D'Souza on 6 Sep. 2017.
