A brief history of the parish :
With the starting of the Jindal Steel Plant (JSW), about 25 Kms. from Ballari, many workers started to migrate to Toranagal from all over the country to workin the integrated steel plant. In order to cater to the pastoral needs of the migrant Catholics and others, this new mission was bifurcated from Sandur parish in 1995. Fr. Sagayanathan was appointed its first parish priest. The church and presbytery were built during his time and blessed on 10 May 1998 by Bishop Joseph D'Silva. The present large church was built by Fr. Francis B. It was blessed on 27 April 2014 by Bishop Henry D'Souza, on the day of canonization of Saint Pope John Paul II and beatification of Blessed Pope John XXIII.
