Workshop On Leadership Role Held

BALLARI, FEB. 22: Over hundred Catholic teachers working in Catholic Schools in Bellary area enthusiastically participated in a workshop on "fostering leadership" 22 February, at Dheeksha Bhavan Hall, Ballari.

It was organized by Diocesan Pastoral Council and Ballari Catholic Association.

Mr. Joseph Y. Vice President, CAB led praise and worship service. Mr. Raju Balraj, President, CAB welcomed everyone gathered.

The resource persons were: Fr. Herald Pinto, Rector, Deeksha Bhavan, Fr. Ivan Pinto, Director, St. Antony’s Community Center & Diocesan PRO, Fr. Arogyanathan, Manager, Vianney Vidyalaya, and Fr. John Peter, Secretary, Bellary Diocesan Board of Education.

The seminar was held in the context of new challenges in the present scenario and with the intention of sensitizing the Catholic teachers about their role and in compliance with the recommendation of Diocesan Pastoral Council.

Many teachers came forward to help to conduct children's summer camp in soft skills – public speaking, music and drama.

Bishop Henry D Souza in his concluding message appealed to all teachers and managers of the schools to recognize their important role, obligations and rights in today's situation.

Bishop appreciated the dedicated services of the teachers in imparting quality education, especially to the poorer sections of the society. He urged teachers to to be talent spotters, recognizing students’ talents for problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, always encouraging s spirit of cooperation and collaboration with all sections of the people.

Bishop appreciated and thanked DPC and CAB for their initiative.

Ms Mary Gertrude proposed vote of thanks followed by fellowship meal.
